Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia (SEPTEMBER, 2024) - This year, the World Physiotherapy Asia Western Pacific Region Congress took place in the beautiful city of Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, at the luxurious Hotel Aston Denpasar. Held from the 26th to 28th of September 2024, the event brought together a wide range of participants from around the world. With the theme “Collaboration and Transformation towards a Sustainable Physiotherapy Practice,” the congress emphasized the importance of working together to develop physiotherapy practices that are adaptable, patient-focused, and environmentally sustainable.
The Asia Western Pacific (AWP) region comprises 31 member organisations, spread from the Middle East through Asia to the Pacific. Although there is diversity in terms of ethics, language, geography and development, the promotion of physiotherapy is common to all. The purpose of the AWP region congress is to promote contact and interchange between physiotherapists throughout the region and provide a forum to report research findings, share information relevant to the region and support the ongoing work of the region.
The event attracted a wide range of professionals from hospitals, clinics, and academic institutions, including therapists, doctors, and rehabilitation experts. Industry representatives from leading medical technology companies were also present, contributing to the discussions on the future of physiotherapy and sharing new innovations. The attendees and exhibitors created a hub of ideas and solutions aimed at improving healthcare and patient rehabilitation outcomes worldwide.
