At ASSI’25 x ICITS’25, Techcare Innovation highlighted a suite of sports rehabilitation and performance analysis technologies designed to elevate therapy outcomes through smart sensors, interactive platforms, and data-driven insights.

Visitors explored systems engineered to enhance balance, neuromuscular training, coordination, therapeutic engagement, and home-based recovery. By integrating objective assessment tools with engaging therapy modalities, Techcare showcased how technology can meaningfully support clinicians while motivating patients toward better recovery outcomes.

Supporting Effective Training Through Technology

The presentation also emphasised how sports-focused digital platforms can be integrated into strength and conditioning programmes. Features such as reaction-based drills, visual-motor challenges, and task-specific movement assessments allow practitioners to monitor performance consistency and identify deficits that may impact speed, agility, or coordination.

For athletes returning from injury, the technology helps bridge the gap between clinic-based rehabilitation and on-field performance demands. By quantifying movement quality, practitioners can better structure progressive loading and minimise the risk of reinjury.

The ASEAN Sports Innovation Conference gathered leaders from sports medicine, performance science, rehabilitation, and technology. Techcare’s participation reflected the increasing interest in regional partnerships that champion safer, smarter, and more efficient athlete development systems.

Participants showed strong interest in how digital sports rehabilitation tools could be implemented in universities, clubs, physiotherapy centres, and high-performance programmes within the region.

During the conference, Techcare demonstrated technologies that form an integrated sports rehabilitation and performance ecosystem:

1. XLight Coordination & Reaction System

Techcare Interactive Light (XLight) is a training tool designed to enhance movement quality, coordination, reaction ability, and cognitive engagement. It provides an interactive way for users to practise responding to visual cues, improving how quickly and accurately they move, think, and react during functional tasks. The system supports full-body engagement and helps individuals build better control, focus, and motor planning through dynamic, responsive activities.

In sports rehabilitation, XLight supports patients in rebuilding coordination, mobility, balance, and cognitive-motor integration through enjoyable, measurable exercises that encourage consistent participation. In sports, it serves as a valuable tool for developing quicker reactions, sharper decision-making, improved agility, and enhanced hand–eye or foot–eye coordination. Its ability to combine physical movement with cognitive demands makes it beneficial for both recovering individuals and athletes aiming to elevate performance.

    2. FIBOD Digital Balance System

FIBOD is a sensor-based balance assessment and training platform that measures sway, stability, and postural control with precision. Its objective metrics help practitioners identify risk factors, design targeted interventions and monitor recovery or performance progress effectively. With its quick setup and user-friendly design, FIBOD is suitable for athletes from a wide range of sports and training environments.

In sports rehabilitation, FIBOD supports structured balance retraining for individuals with orthopaedic, neurological, vestibular, or mobility challenges, helping them rebuild stability, lower-limb strength, and confidence during functional movement. In sports performance settings, it enhances body coordination, postural control, and dynamic balance, which are key components for improving agility, reducing injury risk, and boosting overall performance in sports that require rapid directional changes, strong core control, and efficient movement mechanics.

    3. Recovery Boot Compression System

Recovery Boot Compression System is a pneumatic compression device designed to support post-training and post-competition recovery. By applying controlled air pressure through a series of inflatable cuffs, the system helps improve circulation, reduce swelling, alleviate muscle soreness, and accelerate tissue recovery. The boot offers optional heating or cooling functionality to manage inflammation and support vascular health.

In sports rehabilitation, the Recovery Boot Compression System aids athletes and active individuals in recovering faster after intense sessions, helping to restore muscle condition and reduce fatigue. In performance settings, it supports ongoing muscle health and recovery management, making it a valuable component in high-performance athlete care and conditioning routines.

    4. Mini Heated Massage Gun

Techcare Mini Heated Massage Gun is a compact vibration-based massaging tool designed to help users relax tight muscles, ease tension, and improve overall comfort after physical activity or daily strain. With its simple operation and multiple interchangeable heads, it allows users to easily target different muscle groups to improve circulation, relieve stiffness, and promote a sense of relief and relaxation.

In sports rehabilitation, the Techcare Mini Heated Massage Gun supports muscle recovery by helping reduce soreness, improving soft-tissue flexibility, and preparing muscles for movement-based therapy. It serves as a practical tool for warming up muscles before training or competition and for aiding post-activity recovery, allowing athletes to maintain better muscle readiness, reduce fatigue, and support ongoing performance and conditioning routines.

    5. APDM Wearable Movement Sensor (Gait & Mobility Analysis)

APDM Wearable Movement Sensor is a wireless sensor system that captures detailed spatiotemporal and kinematic data, including gait, balance, joint angles, limb trajectories, posture, and full-body motion. It supports various software modules (such as gait analysis, balance assessment, and full-body kinematics), enabling comprehensive evaluation of movement patterns, symmetry, and mobility performance.

In sports rehabilitation, the APDM system provides precise, objective analysis of gait and movement mechanics, helping clinicians identify movement inefficiencies, asymmetries, or compensations and tailor rehabilitation protocols accordingly. In athletic performance and training settings, it supports biomechanical optimisation, movement quality monitoring, and data-driven decision-making for return-to-sports planning and performance enhancement.

    6. Wireless EMG Muscle Sensor

EMG Muscle Sensor is a wireless surface-electromyography (EMG) device that measures muscle electrical activity via skin-surface electrodes, capturing real-time data on muscle firing patterns, activation timing, and intensity. By eliminating cumbersome wires, the system offers flexibility, comfort, and natural movement during assessments.

In sports rehabilitation, the EMG sensor helps detect muscle imbalances, compensation patterns, under- or over-activation, and neuromuscular deficits, enabling therapists to adjust exercise or therapy protocols based on objective data. In sports performance and research contexts, it supports muscle function analysis, fatigue monitoring, injury prevention, and detailed evaluation of training effectiveness.
